Miss Kat

When Kat was in Kindergarten, she was asked what she wanted to be  when she grew up.  She loved her babysitter so much that she said “I  was to be a babysitter just like Maureen.”  A few years later, her 2nd  grade class put on a play and from then on,  every after-school activity was devoted to performance.  At 18 she  found a way to merge her two passions of childcare and theatre by  working as a Production Manager at a kids theatre in New York.  

She moved to Los Angeles after college to pursue a career in acting, but while working with kids through babysitting, teaching acting, and finally working at Sophie Dance, she has come to understand that her true passion is in working with children in a creative environment.  She is no longer acting herself, but is now fully committed to growing with Sophie Dance and developing her own youth theatre program at the Sophie Dance West location.  Check out Sophie Dance Westside Players for more info!

Miss Kat believes that fostering a creative and supportive environment for kids is one of the best things you can do for the future of this  world.  She feels honored to work with such an incredible group of passionate, creative educators.
