Miss Kat grew up on the east coast and dreamt of being a Broadway star one day. She was always in rehearsals for a new play or musical, and the youth theatre she grew up at was an integral part of her childhood.
Working at Sophie Dance since 2017 and eventually becoming a partner at our Brentwood location, Sophie Dance West; Kat was inspired to go back to her roots and start her own theatre program alongside the thriving dance program we already have. After 3 successful years of Westside Players at the Sophie Dance West location, we knew it was time to open up a Westside Players program at 3rd Street!

What We Do
Sophie Dance Westside Players is a youth theatre program based out of Sophie Dance. Established in 2022 at Sophie Dance West, we have had 3 successful years of programming, including shows such as Legally Blonde, Annie, Beauty & the Beast, Willa Wonka, & More! And due to popular demand, we now have a Westside Players cast at our 3rd Street location too!
In the Westside Players, your child will not only learn all about musical theatre and what it takes to put on a full scale production, but they will make lasting friendships, learn about how to build a character, how to harmonize, and improvise!
As a former theatre kid herself, Miss Kat believes theatre is a wonderful and unique way to help your child build the skills they need to feel comfortable in public settings, speaking loud and proud, making new friends, and learning how to think on their feet!
